Day 1 :

Arrival in Darjeeling

Welcome to the ‘queen of hills’ to begin your Darjeeling & Sikkim honeymoon tour.

As you arrive at Bagdogra Airport, the agent’s representative will drive you to the soulful Darjeeling and drop you at your idyllic resort. After completing the check-in formalities, settle down in your room and relax for a while. Spend your evening strolling on the local streets with your partner or try out together the best of Tibetan delicacies.

After an entertaining day, return to the hotel and have a goodnight’s sleep, ending the day 1 of your North East honeymoon package.

Day 2 :

Darjeeling city tour

Witness the early morning sun shining over the Himalayan peak, explore the local tourist attractions, and spend an eventful day with your better half on your honeymoon in Darjeeling.

Wake up early in the morning and set out on a journey to capture the alluring sunrise at the Kanchenjunga on the second day of your Darjeeling honeymoon package. On your way back to the hotel, visit the serene Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial & the picture-perfect Batasia Loop.

Relish delicious breakfast and get ready for a memorable city tour of Darjeeling with your spouse on the day two of your North East honeymoon trip. Visit the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Help Center, Tea Estate, National History Museum and the Peace Pagoda.

As you both complete this city tour, come back to the hotel. Stay cosy in your hotel room & rest. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 :

Transfer to Gangtok. City tour of Gangtok

The third day of your Darjeeling & Gangtok honeymoon welcomes you to the capital city of Sikkim.

Post breakfast, leave your hotel after check-out to take a remarkable road journey to Gangtok. Upon arrival in Gangtok, register yourself at the hotel’s reception for check-in and de-stress for some time.

A little later, head out on a city tour of Gangtok with your loved one to visit the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology and Do Drul Chorten. Explore the calm and serene Enchey Monastery, White Hall and the enticing Flower Show. Spend the evening as per your convenience. After a lovely day, come back to the hotel and sleep off the night.

Day 4 :

Gangtok excursion: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

A day filled with adventure, picturesque view and terrific tourist attractions adds lovely memories to your Gangtok honeymoon.

Kick start the day with a scrumptious breakfast and embark on the sightseeing tour on the fifth day of Sikkim and Darjeeling holiday package. Start with uncovering the glittering Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.

Towards the evening, retire at the hotel and spend the evening whispering sweet nothings into each other’s ears. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 :

Departure from Gangtok

The last day of your honeymoon in North-east comes to an end.

Today is the last day of your Darjeeling and Gangtok deluxe honeymoon package itinerary. Complete check-out formalities and transfer to Jalpaiguri Railway Station/ Bagdogra Airport / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand to leave for your home destination with your better-half, with memories that will linger in your heart forever.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
